What is a DSP?

A DSP is a digital sound processor. With the help of a DSP acoustic properties can be changed: Time-of-flight correction of different installation locations, active separation of speakers (active filters: high-pass/low-pass/band-pass filters, slope, filter characteristics), EQ bands for frequency response linearization (input and output EQ), phase shift, level adjustment of individual channels, etc.
